About

Overview

Armless Detective is a story-driven mystery game where you play a detective who lost both arms in a factory accident and now solves crimes using a magic hat full of gadgets. Each case drops you into a new location, asks you to find a set of clues, and then challenges you to name the right suspect. This guide walks you through the gadgets, how clues work across every case, multiplayer rules, and how to earn coins and cosmetics.

How to read clues and reach an accusation

Step
In short Clues only mean something once you check them with the right tool, so work through every interactive object before you name a suspect.

Each case gives you a fixed set of hints to find. Open your File first to see exactly which hints apply to the current case, then work through the location systematically.

  1. Open the File read which hints you need to find before you touch anything else
  2. Sweep with the Blacklight look for glowing fingerprints on surfaces and for graffiti on walls or mirrors
  3. Use the Magnifying Glass check floors, toilet seats, and surfaces for rainbow hair strands or bobby pins
  4. Use the Magnet drag it around the room to pull out money or diamonds; if only tix appear, the Poor hint is active
  5. Use the Grabby Arm interact with mouse holes, pillows, diaries, and thermometer stickers to trigger those hints
  6. Cross-reference the File match every confirmed hint to the suspect it points at, then make your accusation
05

The Bathroom case walkthrough

Step
In short The Bathroom introduces the supply closet key mechanic, which is central to two of its seven hints, so find the key early.

The Bathroom is the third case and the first to use a key. Seven hints are in play here: Hair, Mice, Ransacked, Hidden Evidence, Lost Shoe, Graffiti, and Arson.

  1. Check for a burning toilet if one is on fire, the Arson hint is confirmed immediately
  2. Shine the Blacklight on the mirror graffiti only shows up under UV light
  3. Run the Magnifying Glass along the floor and toilet seats rainbow hair strands are the target
  4. Press the Grabby Arm into every rat hole if squeaking plays and a mouse appears, the Mice hint is active
  5. Check for a stray shoe anywhere in the room its presence confirms the Lost Shoe hint
06

The Cursed Cathedral event stage

Step
In short The Cathedral is the longest and most complex stage, requiring you to solve a separate puzzle before you can even begin investigating.

This Halloween event stage has seven hints and several distinct areas to cover. Complete the steps in order — skipping the maze puzzle locks you out of the Cathedral entirely.

  1. Complete the ball maze drag the ball to all three points to unlock the Cathedral entrance
  2. Grab the shed key from the hilltop area, then open the shed bare shelves (except the shovel) confirm the Ransacked hint
  3. Take the shovel from the shed and dig up graves on the hilltop an empty grave confirms that hint
  4. Inside the Cathedral, rotate the standing mirrors to line up the ceiling light, then shine your Magnifying Glass on the gem a black gem is fake, a red gem is real
  5. Sweep the grounds with the Blacklight ghosts that charge you after extended UV exposure confirm the Vengeful Spirit hint; graffiti threats on walls confirm Personal Threat Graffiti
  6. Look for candy or a candy bucket on the ground outside, and check all hiding spots for gadgets buried under objects or pulled from sinks with the Magnet

Common questions

FAQ

What happens if I guess the wrong suspect?

You get fired — the game ends that run. The Eyewitness badge is awarded the first time this happens.

Do I need to spend Robux to finish the game?

No. Every case, from the Motel Massacre through the Masterpiece Museum, can be completed without spending anything. The VIP gamepass only adds cosmetic items and does not affect your ability to solve cases.

How does multiplayer change the investigation?

Each player selects one or a few gadgets at the start, so the group must collectively cover all the clue types needed for that case. The File gadget is the only exception — everyone always has it. Coordinate with your team before searching so no hint type gets overlooked.

What is the hardest thing to unlock in the game?

The Ultimate Detective badge requires you to complete the Masterpiece Museum — the final main case — with at least +48 modifier difficulty. The game's own badge description adds "Good luck."

Can I replay cases after I finish them?

The badge descriptions show that suspects can change between runs, since the Suspect Collector badge requires catching every suspect at least once and So We Meet Again rewards correctly guessing the same suspect twice in a row. Replaying cases is the way to chase both of those.
