Evade is an action parkour survival game where up to 15 players must outlast meme-based enemies called nextbots for three minutes on a shared map. There is no building or puzzle-solving — movement skill is what keeps you alive. This guide covers controls, survival techniques, shop items, level progression, map badges, and codes so you can go from first-timer to consistent survivor.
In shortKnowing every key before you load in means you are never fumbling while a nextbot is right behind you.
The game uses standard WASD movement, but several extra keys make the difference between living and dying. Equip items with 1, 3, or F; open the usables wheel with 2; and use O to switch between first- and third-person view at any time.
Einteract: revive a downed teammate or open doors
C or Ctrlcrouch and slide: sliding bashes doors open and combining it with a jump lets you pass through low gaps
Twhistle: highlights your position even when downed so teammates can find you
Rlook behind: check what is chasing you without turning your character
Oswitch view: third-person gives a wider field of view, useful for spotting nextbots early
Mmenu: exits the round safely; know it so you are not hunting for it mid-chase
In shortEvery round follows the same structure, so knowing each phase helps you make smarter decisions as the clock runs down.
A standard round lasts three minutes. Nextbots announce themselves with loud idle audio, flickering lights, and a red screen filter that grows stronger the closer they get. The last round on any map rotation is always a special round, which raises the reward multiplier significantly.
Survivekeep moving until the three-minute timer runs out; your rewards are reduced if you are downed during the match
Downed statea nextbot catching you puts you into a ragdoll; press T to whistle so a teammate can find and revive you with E
Special roundthe final round of each map raises the reward multiplier
End screentokens and XP are awarded based on performance and map difficulty

In shortCombining movement techniques lets you outpace nextbots.
Evade is built around movement — the developers describe it as an action parkour game where movement is the key to survival.
Tips worth knowing
Walking forward gradually builds speed up to your running limit, so never stop moving
Wall-run by jumping toward a wall while moving forward, which lets you reach high spots
Crouch-slide by pressing C or Ctrl while running or going downhill for a small speed boost and to squeeze through low gaps
Against 3D nextbots, break their line of sight behind a wall rather than trying to outrun them
05
Map difficulty and rewards
Table
In shortHarder maps pay more, so move up in difficulty as your movement improves.
Maps come in four difficulty ratings. Higher difficulty means more tokens and XP at the end of a round, and also more event currency during active events. Easy maps are intentionally lower-reward in exchange for a more relaxed layout.
Easy
lower rewards, forgiving layouts
Normal
standard rewards
Hard
increased rewards
Expert
largest reward bonus, demanding enough that maps like Traprooms are called out specifically for their hefty payout
06
Items in the shop
Summary
In shortItems split into gameplay tools bought with tokens and XP, and cosmetics that change nothing about survival.
Tokens and XP earned from finished rounds are spent in the shop. Cosmetic purchases — skins, characters, nametags, unusuals, and carry animations — have no effect on gameplay. The daily shop rotates every 24 hours.
Perks passive boosts active as long as they are equipped; the Badge perk (level 5+, 1,250 tokens) adds a 10% XP bonus per round
Utilities active items lasting one to three rounds before they are consumed; equip with 1, 3, or F
Usables single-use items accessed from the usables wheel with 2; consumables like Cola can be used an unlimited number of times during a round
Lights deployable items that help you see on dark maps
Event currencies earned only during limited-time events and spent only on event battle passes, not the main shop
07
Level progression and unlocks
Step
In shortLevelling up is the main way to unlock new equipment, and harder maps speed the process significantly.
XP is earned at the end of each round and shown as a purple bar in the top-left of the main menu. Map difficulty, special rounds, and reviving teammates all affect how fast you level up. The Badge perk gives a 10% XP boost per round but its practical effect on Normal maps is around four extra XP.
Revive teammatesyou earn bonus rewards each time you bring someone back
Certain special rounds significantly increase the end-of-round XP reward
Harder difficulty directly increases XP earned per round
Equipment, perks, emotes, and badges unlock at levels 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 50, 75, 100, and beyond
08
Map-specific badges worth chasing
Tips
In shortMap badges reward players who engage with each map's unique mechanics rather than just surviving.
Several badges unlock by completing specific actions tied to individual maps.
Tips worth knowing
Escape? — fall into one of the holes found in the Backrooms map
Hit and Run — run over a nextbot with the bus on Desert Bus
Procedure — find the keys and unlock the secret entrance in Arid Ruins
Flawless Survival — finish a full round without being downed even once
09
Redeeming codes
Step
In shortCodes expire fast, so redeem them the moment you hear about one rather than saving it for later.
Codes can reward tokens, points, event currency, and limited cosmetics. Each code works once per account and is case-sensitive, so copy-paste rather than typing by hand. New codes are announced on the official Hexagon Development Community Discord and the developers' X account.
Open the game and reach the main menu
Click the codes icon on the right side of the main menuit sits above the credits button and below the daily missions button
Paste the code exactly as writtena single wrong character makes it fail
Press Enter or the Redeem buttona valid code adds its reward to your account immediately

Tokens
The main spendable currency earned from rounds, used to buy perks, utilities, usables, and lights in the shop.
Points
A secondary currency obtainable through daily rewards, daily missions, and codes, used mainly for cosmetic purchases.
Utility
A shop item that stays active for one to three rounds before it is consumed.
Revive
The act of pressing E near a downed teammate to bring them back into the round, which also earns the reviver bonus rewards.
Special round
The final round of each map rotation, which carries a significantly higher reward multiplier than normal rounds.
Common questions
FAQ
What happens when a nextbot catches me?
You go into a downed ragdoll state rather than being instantly removed from the round. A teammate can revive you by pressing E while standing near you. If no one reaches you in time, you are eliminated and can watch the rest of the round as a spectator — press T to whistle while you wait so teammates can find you faster.
Can I enjoy Evade without spending Robux?
Yes — developer products in the game are purely cosmetic and have no effect on gameplay performance. Tokens, points, and XP can all be earned by playing rounds, claiming daily rewards, and redeeming codes.
How do I find working codes?
Codes are announced on the official Hexagon Development Community Discord and the developers' X account. Enter them through the codes icon on the right side of the main menu, and paste rather than type to avoid capitalisation errors. Codes expire quickly, so check those channels regularly.
What is the difference between a 3D nextbot and a regular one?
Against 3D nextbots, ducking behind a wall to break their line of sight is more effective than trying to outrun them.
Do rewards go down if I get downed during a round?
Yes — your token and XP rewards are reduced if you are downed before the round ends.
