Basic controls and your first placement

Check
In short Learning the controls before your first wave saves you from costly misplacements.

Before enemies start rolling in, get comfortable with how placement works. On a controller, three buttons handle almost everything: placing, cancelling, and rotating.

  • R2 places a unit or inspects a spot you are hovering over
  • X cancels a placement or closes the inspect panel
  • Y rotates the unit so it faces the direction you want

  2. Beat Normal Mode earn the badge by clearing Normal Mode for the first time
  3. Beat Hard Mode earn the badge by clearing Hard Mode for the first time

Maps and what makes each one different

Tips
In short Knowing each map's layout before you place anything is the fastest way to stop leaks.

Four normal maps are currently in the game, each with a different path layout.

Tips worth knowing
  • Castle has a single path with two loop circles
  • Frankenstein Lab is one of the original maps and has two separate paths, which can be difficult for new players especially with its short paths
  • Cave has one path with two curves
  • Camp is no longer in the game — it was replaced by Cave in April 2025
04

Event modes and their rewards

Summary
In short Event modes pay out exclusive currencies on completion.

Beyond the four standard difficulties, the game runs event modes that use their own currency and wave counts.

  • Easter Mode 40 waves, pays 300 Eggs on completion
  • Egypt Mode 40 waves, pays 300 Sands on completion
  • BloodMoon Mode 45 waves, pays 800 Crystals on completion
  • Endless Mode wave count is open-ended; rewards include Bonds and Trait Rubies
05

Choosing your units

Table
In short Match your unit choice to what you need: raw damage, area clearing, or boosting allies.

Units fall into a few roles.

Single-Targethits one enemy at a time; examples include Agent and Golden Horse
Splash / AOEhits multiple enemies in a radius; Arsonist, Bomber, and Anubis fall here
Boosterbuffs nearby units rather than attacking directly; Banjo multiplies the damage of units around it

Common questions

FAQ

How do I get stronger units without spending Robux?

Most units come from crates opened with in-game currencies like Bonds or event tokens. Redeeming active codes in the Shop menu gives you free Bonds. Event modes pay out their own currencies on completion, which you can spend on event-exclusive crates and units.

What is the difference between Splash and AOE?

Splash units deal damage in a radius around the target they hit. Anubis, for example, fires in a 60-degree cone at level 1 that widens to 100 degrees at level 3. Both Splash and AOE are listed as separate type tags on Anubis.
