Getting started — your first creature

Step
In short Picking and customizing your starter creature is the first thing you do, and setting up your name and bio early makes roleplaying with friends much smoother.

When you load into the game for the first time, you choose a starter creature from a set lineup. From there you can shape how it looks before you ever step onto the island.

  1. Choose your creature pick a starter from the available creatures on the selection screen.
  2. Customize the look adjust body color, eye design, and wearable accessories to make it yours.
  3. Set a name and bio other players see this during roleplay, so write something that fits the character you have in mind.
  4. Practice movement walk and fly around the starting area until the controls feel natural.

Customizing your creature

Tips
In short The combination of color, eyes, accessories, and size means two players with the same creature type can end up looking completely different.

Customization goes well beyond a basic color picker. Eye shape and color are their own separate option. Wearable accessories like hats and decorations layer on top of that. Size is also adjustable. Smaller creatures can be picked up.

Tips worth knowing
  • Change the eye design — unique designs and color combinations are available.
  • Equip wearable accessories to add personality on top of the base look.
  • Adjust size to change the overall feel of the creature without switching species.
  • Pick up smaller creatures — this works within the game.
05

Roleplaying and exploring with friends

Check
In short Isles of Ravos is built around free exploration and roleplay.

The island is open to fly around at will, which makes it a natural space for meeting up and running collaborative stories. Having your name, bio, and creature look sorted before you meet friends means you spend less time in menus and more time actually playing together.

  • Write your bio before meeting friends so your character feels ready for roleplay from the start.
  • Collect multiple creatures over time to vary what you bring to different roleplay sessions.
