About

Overview

Anime Origins is a tower defense game on Roblox where you summon anime-style units, place them on a map, and hold off waves of enemies to protect your base. This guide covers everything from your first login to pushing through harder stages — including how to build a team, handle flying enemies, and fix the most common reasons people get stuck.

Your first steps after loading in

Step
In short Collect every free reward before you spend a single gem, then build a three-role team and head into the first Story stage.

Before you touch the summon banner or enter a stage, there are several free resources sitting in menus waiting to be claimed. Login rewards, playtime rewards, the daily spin, and any completed quests all hand you gems and materials at no cost. Picking up all of these first means you start the game with a real stockpile rather than going in empty. What matters more is making sure your team covers three basic roles before you fight.

  1. Claim free rewards collect your login bonus, playtime reward, daily spin, and any finished quest rewards before anything else.
  2. Pick your starting unit the long-term difference between choices is small, so choose freely.
  3. Build a three-role team bring at least one cheap attacker, one Hill or Hybrid unit that can hit flying enemies, and one area attacker.
  4. Enter Story stage one keep the speed low on your first run so you can watch which waves send flying enemies and when the boss arrives.
  5. Note the flying waves remembering exactly when airborne enemies appear helps you prepare your Hill unit and budget ahead of time.
  6. Collect rewards after clearing grab your player-level rewards and any quest completions before moving to the next stage.

The fastest path through early progress

Summary
In short Story Normal into Hard first-clears into one fully evolved carry is the most resource-efficient route through the early game.

Story Normal and Story Hard each give their own separate first-clear rewards, so running only Normal over and over leaves a lot of gems and experience on the table. Once you have cleared a Normal stage, go back and clear it on Hard to grab that second reward set. After that, only grind the Legend stages that drop the specific evolution materials your main unit actually needs. Use Challenge mode to gather Remnants and trait-reroll items, then pour those into a single carry unit until it is fully evolved. Trying to evolve several units at once just means nothing gets finished. Raids, Rifts, Infinite Hall, and World Boss are all easier once you have that one complete unit and stable Hard clears behind you.

  • Story Normal clear stages in order to unlock what comes next.
  • Hard first-clears revisit cleared stages on Hard to collect the separate first-clear reward.
  • Targeted Legend farming grind only the Legend stages that drop your main unit's evolution materials.
  • Challenge mode run it to stock up on Remnants and trait-reroll items.
  • One evolved carry finish one unit completely before splitting resources across others.
  • Later modes move to Raids, Rifts, Infinite Hall, and World Boss once Hard stages are stable.
03

Building a team that works

Tips
In short Build around roles rather than rarity, and place your first attacker where it can cover the longest stretch of the path.

A team built purely from Mythic units can fall apart on wave one because the placement costs are too high to afford multiple units early. Cheaper units that fit a needed role outperform expensive units that double up on a role you already have covered. The six roles to fill are: a low-cost early attacker, a ground carry, a Hill or Hybrid unit for flying enemies, an area attacker, an economy unit, and a support. Bends and corners in the path let a single unit attack enemies multiple times as they travel, so that is where your first attacker should go. Upgrade one strong attacker before adding more units, add your economy unit only once your defense feels stable, and switch your spending to damage and support before a boss wave arrives.

Tips worth knowing
  • Always include a low-cost early attacker so you can cover the first wave without running out of money.
  • Hill or Hybrid units are not optional — ground units cannot target flying enemies at all.
  • Hold off on the economy unit until your early defense is solid, otherwise the first few waves will break through.
  • Place your first attacker near a bend or corner where enemies travel along two sections of path.
  • Upgrade your strongest attacker before placing new ones rather than spreading money across many weak units.
  • Before a boss wave, stop investing in your economy unit and redirect funds to your carry and support.
04

Handling flying enemies

Check
In short Check that your Hill or Hybrid unit is placed and upgraded before a flying wave hits, because upgrading ground units during an air attack does nothing.

Flying enemies appear as you push deeper into Story mode. Ground units cannot attack them, so a team with no Hill or Hybrid unit simply watches flying enemies walk to the base untouched. Hill units can only be placed on elevated spots on the map, not on flat ground, so scout those positions the moment a stage loads. Have enough money set aside to place your Hill unit before the flying wave arrives. A lower-rarity unit that can actually target flying enemies is always more useful than a high-rarity ground unit when the threat is in the air.

  • At least one Hill or Hybrid unit is in your team this is the minimum requirement for surviving flying waves.
  • High-ground spots are identified immediately when the stage starts looking for them after the wave begins is too late.
  • Enough money is reserved to place the Hill unit before flying enemies appear running dry at that moment is a common wipeout cause.
  • No money is being spent upgrading ground units while flying enemies are in the air ground upgrades do not affect air targets.
  • Rarity is not the deciding factor any unit that can target flying enemies fills the role, even a low-rarity one.
05

Diagnosing a stage you cannot beat

Step
In short Identifying exactly what kind of enemy reached your base narrows the problem to one cause, which makes the fix obvious.

When enemies reach your base, the type of enemy that gets through tells you exactly what is missing from your team. Rushing to change everything at once makes it hard to know what actually helped, so limit yourself to one or two changes per attempt and track how many more waves you survive compared to the previous run. If the problem is outside the stage itself — low unit levels or unevolved units — sort that between attempts rather than mid-run.

  1. Identify the enemy type flying enemies reaching the base means your Hill or Hybrid role is missing or under-upgraded; groups of small ground enemies mean your area attacker is too weak; a single boss breaking through means your single-target damage is too low.
  2. Reduce and focus cut the number of placed units and put the saved money into your carry and one cheap early attacker.
  3. Fix between runs if overall damage is simply too low, upgrade unit levels and work on evolution before retrying the stage.
  4. Limit changes per attempt change one or two things at a time so you can tell which adjustment actually moved you forward.
06

Redeem codes

Tips
In short Enter codes as soon as you find them, because each code works only once per account and expires after a set period.

The developers release codes that players can enter for free gems and progression materials. You enter them through the dedicated code field in the in-game menu. Each code can only be redeemed once on a single account, and most carry an expiry date, so waiting too long means losing the reward entirely. Keep an eye on official social media and in-game announcements to catch new codes early.

Tips worth knowing
  • Open the code entry field in the in-game menu to redeem.
  • Each code works once per account.
  • Codes expire, so enter them as soon as you come across them.
  • Follow official social media and in-game news to spot new codes quickly.

Playing safely

Warn
In short Set a spending limit before you touch Robux, never share personal information, and stay away from external scripts and tools.

Anime Origins includes a gacha summoning system and paid game passes. Younger players should always check with a parent or guardian before any purchase. Outside the game, third-party auto-farming scripts and modded files should not be used. Protecting your personal information and knowing how to report bad behavior keeps the experience safe.

Worth watching out for
Decide on a Robux budget before you start summoning, and if you are in middle or high school, confirm the amount with a parent or guardian first.
Do not use external scripts, automation tools, or modded files.
Never enter your password or verification code on any page outside the official Roblox login.
Do not share your real name, school, address, phone number, or social media contact with strangers in the game.
If someone sends hostile messages or tries to direct you to an outside site, block and report them without replying, then switch servers if needed.

Common questions

FAQ

Why can't I place a unit even though I have it in my team?

The most common reasons are that you are trying to place it on the path or a restricted tile, you do not have enough in-battle money, or you have reached the placement limit. Hill units can only go on elevated spots, not on flat ground, so look for a raised position on the map. If money is the problem, upgrade an existing unit before placing the next one.

I have the evolution materials but the evolve button is not working — why?

Open the evolution screen and select each required material slot to see which items are highlighted in red — those are the ones still missing. Focus on collecting the flagged items first, then return to the evolution screen once everything is accounted for.

Are private servers really free?

Yes, the game's own description confirms that private servers cost nothing. They are a good option when you want to practice unit placement at your own pace or play with just your friends.

Can you get far in this game without spending Robux?

Yes — Story mode is playable by collecting login rewards, daily spins, and quest rewards consistently every day. Finish one carry unit before spreading resources across several.
