Terra Guide: Choosing your class
About
OverviewTerra is an insect-based evolution game where up to 60 players share one server and compete or cooperate inside a living ecosystem. You pick one of four classes — Creature, Plant, Fungus, or Coral — and every class plays completely differently. This guide covers how each class works, what goals to aim for, and how to unlock the game's badges.

Choosing your class
TableEach class has a different way of surviving, and none of them play alike. Creature focuses on hunting and eating. Plant focuses on growing a network and producing energy. Fungus lives off other plants. Coral lives near the seafloor alongside the creatures around it.
| Creature | hunt or forage for food and survive in the open ecosystem |
| Plant | place a node near your seed, branch outward, and produce energy to grow |
| Fungus | infect a plant's node and either drain its energy, produce your own, or cooperate with the plant |
| Coral | settle on the seafloor near the surface or in the abyss and live alongside surrounding creatures |

Creature milestones and survival
StepCreatures earn badges by surviving and aging. When your health gets critical, a Respawn Egg lets you avoid death entirely.
- Reach Age 100 this unlocks the Elder badge
- Reach Age 500 this unlocks the Ancient badge
- Use a Respawn Egg to survive a death you would otherwise have taken this earns the Cheating Death badge
- Play as specific creatures becoming a bee or a fish each unlocks its own badge
Plant goals and energy milestones
CheckEverything in the Plant class connects back to your node. You place a node near your seed, then branch from it to grow and produce energy. Two extra systems — Photocyte and Carbon — open up extra badges and resources as you expand.
- Grow your build to 800 blocks to earn the What a domain! badge
- Send or receive energy with a Photocyte to unlock the Symbiosis badge
- Produce Carbon for the first time to unlock the New Age badge
- Harvest Carbon from a Gas Well to unlock the Black Gold badge
Fungus and Coral build targets
SummaryFungus starts by infecting a plant's node. From there you can drain the host's energy for the Parasite badge, or cooperate instead. Coral simply requires you to play the class, then keep growing.
- Fungus first play unlocks the Fear us badge
- Fungus drain sapping energy from your host earns the Parasite badge
- Fungus size reach a 650-block build for the Wastelander badge
- Coral playing as Coral for the first time unlocks the Crunchy Coral badge
- Coral size reach a 1150-block build for the Polyplord badge
Hidden and secret badges

- Oh no why am i starting to melt- — relates to exploring the depths
- Frosted Revelation — earned by defeating the Frost Construct during the 2025 winter event
