First steps when you load in

Step
In short Grabbing your free starting bonus and finishing the tutorial sets you up much faster than skipping them.

Before you place a single unit, there are two quick things worth doing. Joining the Paradoxum Games group gives you an extra $100 in starting cash, which is free money toward your first towers. The tutorial then walks you through placing units and surviving your first waves, so you understand how everything fits together before the difficulty climbs.

  1. Join the Paradoxum Games group collect the $100 starting cash bonus before your first match.
  2. Complete the tutorial learn how unit placement and wave timing work in a low-pressure setting, and earn the Welcome to TDS badge for finishing it.
  3. Start with coin-purchased units you can build a working lineup without spending Gems or Robux early on.
  4. Team up from the beginning playing with others makes early waves easier and helps you learn the game faster.

Building your first lineup

Tips
In short A mix of economy, attack, and support towers clears early waves smoothly and funds your upgrades for later.

Your lineup needs three things working together: a way to earn cash faster, towers that deal damage, and towers that make your damage dealers stronger. Farm costs 2,000 coins and has no attack, but it boosts your cash income so you can afford stronger towers earlier. Commander costs 4,000 coins and speeds up the attack rate of nearby towers, making it one of the most important purchases you can make. DJ Booth, at 5,000 coins, buffs the towers around it and improves upgrade efficiency, though you can only place one per match.

Tips worth knowing
  • Place Farm early to grow your cash income before the waves get harder.
  • Buy Commander as soon as you can — faster attack speed makes every damage tower around it hit harder.
  • Drop one DJ Booth and position it where it covers as many of your towers as possible.
  • Upgrade your towers regularly — leaving them at low levels makes the later waves much harder to survive.

Hidden and Lead enemies

Warn
In short If your lineup cannot detect Hidden or Lead enemies, entire waves can slip through untouched.

Two enemy types regularly catch players off guard mid-run. Hidden enemies move without being targetable by most towers unless a unit in your lineup has Hidden Detection. Lead enemies resist standard attacks entirely unless you have Lead Detection covered. Check your tower list before a run and make sure at least one unit handles each type — discovering the gap during a boss wave is too late.

Worth watching out for
Hidden enemies bypass towers without Hidden Detection make sure at least one unit in your lineup can target them.
Lead enemies shrug off normal damage you need a tower with Lead Detection or they walk through freely.
In co-op, talk with your team before the run so someone is covering each enemy type, not both of you overlooking the same gap.
05

Pushing through harder waves

Check
In short When you keep losing, the problem is almost always a gap in your lineup or upgrades you put off too long.

If a wave keeps breaking through, go through this list before you retry. Most failures come down to a missing role in the lineup, skipped upgrades, or a boss that your towers simply are not leveled enough to handle. In co-op, dividing roles — one player handling economy, another focusing on high-damage towers — makes runs much more stable than everyone building the same thing.

  • Check that you have at least one Farm-type tower generating extra income.
  • Check that your damage towers are upgraded as high as your current cash allows.
  • Check that your lineup covers Hidden Detection and Lead Detection.
  • Check that Commander or DJ Booth is positioned to buff your main damage dealers.
  • Check your co-op role split if everyone built the same tower type, redistribute before the next attempt.

Solar Requiem and event maps

Summary
In short Solar Requiem runs across three nights and two difficulty settings, giving you six distinct badges to chase.

Events bring limited-time maps with their own wave structures and exclusive rewards. Solar Requiem is divided into Night I, Night II, and Night III, and each night has both Easy and Hard difficulty. After an event ends, its exclusive maps and towers are no longer available, so play while it is active.

  • Night I Easy / Hard first stage of Solar Requiem, two badges available
  • Night II Easy / Hard second stage, two more badges to collect
  • Night III Easy / Hard hardest stage of the event, two final badges
  • Event towers rewards from event clears cannot be obtained after the event closes
07

Boss milestones worth aiming for

Tips
In short Beating the named bosses in Voidcore mode is the main measure of progress in the harder modes, and each one awards its own achievement badge.

Beyond surviving waves, the game tracks specific boss kills as achievements. These run from named enemies like the Soul Stealer and Vindicator up through harder targets like the Void Keeper and Void Brute. Clearing Hardcore is a significant milestone, but the game pushes further — Voidcore is the hardest mode and the one the Triumph Voidcore badge asks you to complete.

Tips worth knowing
  • Defeat the Soul Stealer in Voidcore mode to earn the Exorcist achievement.
  • Defeat the Vindicator in Voidcore mode to earn the Vindicator achievement.
  • Defeat the Void Swordmaster in Voidcore mode to earn the Blade Master achievement.
  • Defeat the Void Keeper in Voidcore mode to earn the Inquisitor achievement.
  • Defeat the Void Brute in Voidcore mode to earn the Tyrant Slayer achievement.
  • Triumph Hardcore first — the badge itself tells you to go do it again in Voidcore.
08

Longer-term unit goals

Table
In short Knowing what each major unit costs and requires lets you set realistic goals instead of grinding without direction.

Once your basic lineup is stable, start saving toward stronger units. Each one below has a different entry cost and level requirement, so pick a target that matches where you are in the game. Coin-only units are the most accessible; Gem units take longer but do not require Robux.

Farm2,000 coins, no level gate, pure income tower with no attack
Commander4,000 coins, buffs attack speed of nearby towers
DJ Booth5,000 coins, one per match, buffs and improves upgrade efficiency for surrounding towers
Brawler1,250 Gems, gains Pierce at level 3 to hit multiple enemies per shot
Accelerator2,500 Gems, level 50 required, high damage output suited to experienced players
Engineer4,500 Gems, level 60 required, attacks on its own and also places a Sentry for extra coverage
Gatling Gun35,000 coins, level 175 required, player-controlled and usable on both Ground and Cliff
09

Redeem codes

Summary
In short Codes expire and are single-use per account, so enter them as soon as you find them.

The game has working redeem codes that give free rewards. You enter them using the code box in the top-right corner of the lobby screen — look for the icon marked ABX. Each code works once per account, and expired codes return an error rather than a reward.

  • Location open the ABX icon in the top-right corner of the lobby screen to reach the code box
  • Limit one use per account; a code you have already used will not work again
  • Expiry codes stop working after a set date, so use them as soon as you find them
  • Source Paradoxum Games announces new codes through their official social channels and group
  • Skin codes you must already own the relevant tower before a skin code can be redeemed

Common questions

FAQ

Can you enjoy the game without spending Robux?

Yes — Farm, Commander, DJ Booth, and even Gatling Gun are all available for coins alone. Gem and Robux units are stronger, but the game does not lock progress behind them.

What should you buy first with your coins?

Farm at 2,000 coins and Commander at 4,000 coins are strong early purchases. Farm grows your income for the rest of the match, and Commander's attack-speed boost makes every damage tower you already have hit harder.

How do you beat a boss that keeps getting through?

Upgrade your highest-damage towers as far as possible before the boss wave arrives, and confirm that your lineup has Hidden Detection and Lead Detection covered. Bringing extra players into co-op lets everyone focus damage faster and dramatically increases your chances.

How do you play co-op with friends?

From the lobby you can invite friends directly or join a friend's session that is already running.

What is Gatling Gun and how do you unlock it?

Gatling Gun is a player-controlled tower that works on both Ground and Cliff zones. Unlocking it requires reaching player level 175 and spending 35,000 coins.

What is the hardest thing to accomplish in the game?

Triumphing in Voidcore mode is the ultimate challenge — the game itself describes it as overcoming the strongest of armies. Clear Hardcore first before attempting Voidcore.

What is Solar Requiem and how does it work?

Solar Requiem is a limited-time event split into three nights, each playable on Easy or Hard difficulty. Completing each night and difficulty earns its own badge, so there are six badges in total to collect while the event is active.
