About

Overview

Depth Spelunking is a horror RPG on Roblox where you play as a Delver pushing deeper into an endless void, dodging monsters, completing tasks, and collecting items floor by floor. This guide covers how floors work, what the entities do and how to deal with them, upgrades, and the milestones the game tracks as you progress.

How floors are chosen and what to expect

Step
In short Knowing the five rarity tiers and how floors scale lets you prepare instead of react.

After each floor, an intermission picks the next floor at random from a pool sorted by rarity. Conditional floors only enter the pool when you meet specific requirements, such as reaching a minimum floor number. Every twenty floors the music grows noticeably darker and more unsettling, and the difficulty steps up — more entities per floor and more tasks to finish.

  1. Check the Atlas the game's in-run compendium lists information about each floor.
  2. Resist spoiling yourself the game itself advises against looking floors up in advance, since discovering a new environment cold is part of the design.

Floor upgrades and the elevator battery

Summary
In short Keeping the elevator battery alive and voting wisely on upgrades are the two maintenance tasks that run alongside everything else.

At the start of every floor, three upgrade options are put to a vote among everyone in the server; whichever gets the most votes activates for the whole group. Upgrades can restore battery or stamina, or grant a useful item each floor. Voting for the same upgrade more than once raises it to a higher tier with stronger effects. Separately, the elevator battery is a machine that keeps the floor powered — if it drains to zero, the floor goes dark, which is called a blackout.

  • Battery refill restores the elevator's power supply.
  • Stamina refill tops up every player's sprint resource.
  • Item grants some upgrades add a free item to each floor.
  • Tier stacking re-voting the same upgrade strengthens it.
03

Reading the entities and staying alive

Tips
In short Each entity has a specific weakness you can exploit once you know how it hunts.

Entities appear on every floor except the first floor, breakrooms, and pitstops. The total number of entities on a floor is capped at eight, but the deeper you go, the closer to that cap you get. A small number of entities have rare cosmetic variants that look different but behave identically.

Tips worth knowing
  • Freeze when a Gazer looks your way — Gazers track movement, not sound, so stopping completely causes them to lose interest and move on.
  • Watch for imperfect movement to spot Mimics — a Mimic copies a player's appearance but runs into walls, stands still without crouching, and never sprints unless chasing you.
  • Stay quiet around the Echovore — it is blind and hunts entirely by sound, and even the noise of a running task can alert the small sentry copies it plants around the floor.
  • Keep tabs on the Drone — it is slow but it locks onto the nearest player and never stops following.
  • Distract the Echovore with generators — The Factory floor spawns large yellow generator models that the Echovore destroys upon arrival, allowing you to lure it away.
  • Use the pizza storage area on the Arcade floor as a refuge — entities avoid that area because of the smell.
  • On Envy's floor, she throws a spear that knocks you down, the roses on the floor slow your escape, and if the power dies she locks onto the nearest Delver instantly. The Phantom's Cloak does not affect Envy — she continues to chase you even while it is active.

Solo play versus bringing a group

Table
In short Solo and group play each demand a different approach to the same floors.

Some badges can only be earned in one mode, so it is worth knowing the differences before you start a run.

Soloyou earn the badge for reaching floor 15 with no starting items, which is locked to solo lobbies entirely.
Groupreaching floor 5 with three or more friends in the same server earns a co-op badge.
Groupsomeone can watch the Drone while others work.
05

Milestones worth aiming for

Check
In short The game's badges map out a natural progression path from floor 10 all the way to floor 100, with meaningful unlocks along the way.

Reaching certain floors without spending a paid revive is the backbone of progression. Two of these milestones unlock new content: clearing floor 30 without a paid revive opens the Black Market, and clearing floor 50 the same way unlocks the Blood of the Martyr. The task-completion badges form their own track, rewarding players who clear 20, 40, and then 60 tasks in a single run.

  • Reach floor 10 without a paid revive to earn the Beginner badge.
  • Reach floor 20 to earn the Delver badge.
  • Reach floor 30 without a paid revive to earn the Explorer badge and unlock the Black Market.
  • Reach floor 50 without a paid revive to earn the Spelunker badge and unlock Blood of the Martyr.
  • Complete 20 tasks in one run for the Janitor badge, then push to 40 for Electrician and 60 for Engineer.
  • Fill out a Bestiary or Atlas entry completely to earn the Researcher badge; five complete entries earn Cataloguer and unlock the Notebook.
  • Finish any floor in under a minute to earn Speedrun and unlock the Running Shoes.

Common questions

FAQ

Can I earn the floor-depth badges if I use a paid revive?

No. Every badge tied to reaching a floor depth — from floor 10 all the way to floor 100 — requires you to get there without using a paid revive.

How do I unlock the Black Market and Blood of the Martyr?

The Black Market unlocks when you reach floor 30 without a paid revive, earning you the Explorer badge. Blood of the Martyr unlocks at floor 50 the same way, tied to the Spelunker badge.

Does the Phantom's Cloak help against Envy?

No. Envy ignores the Phantom's Cloak entirely and continues chasing you even while it is active.

How many entities can appear on one floor?

The count is capped at eight. The further you descend, the closer each floor's entity count gets to that cap, and there is also an in-game event that can add bonus entities on top of the normal spawn.

Is the Wanderer still in the game?

The Wanderer has been marked as removed. It is no longer part of the active entity roster.
