About

Overview

Racket Rivals is a fast-paced 3v3 game that mixes badminton, tennis, squash, and volleyball into one match where two teams of three players compete to drop a shuttle into the opposing court. You unlock spirits with unique abilities, roll for rackets with different stat profiles, and trigger awakenings for powerful ultimate effects. This guide walks you through the controls, how to build your loadout, how to play your position, and what to do when you keep losing.

Controls to learn before your first match

Step
In short Knowing what each key does before you queue saves you from confusing Set with a normal return.

Every action in Racket Rivals maps to one input. The most important thing to sort out early is the difference between a normal swing and Set — pressing E does not send the shuttle to the opponent, it lifts it for a teammate to attack. Run through each input at least once in the tutorial so the muscle memory is there when a real rally starts.

  1. Normal swing tap Left Click to return the shuttle quickly.
  2. Power swing hold Left Click to charge a stronger hit.
  3. Set press E to lift the shuttle on your own side so a teammate can attack it; not a return.
  4. Dash press Q for a short burst of movement; it has a cooldown.
  5. Ability press 1 to use your spirit's active skill; watch for the cooldown before expecting it again.
  6. Awakening press 2 to trigger your ultimate when the gauge or condition is ready.

What to do in your first few sessions

Check
In short Getting the basics locked in during the tutorial — and then chasing consistent returns before anything else — is the fastest route to actually winning matches.

Skipping the tutorial and jumping straight into matches makes it easy to mix up Set and normal returns under pressure. Your early goal is not to rack up points — it is to return the shuttle to the opponent's court seven times out of ten. Power swings and ability use can come later.

  • Complete the tutorial and try each input swing, power swing, Set, and dash — at least once.
  • Open the loadout screen and confirm your spirit, racket, and awakening are equipped.
  • Play several matches with that starting gear before changing anything.
  • After each loss, identify one specific reason too many air swings, wrong position, or ability left unused.
  • Redeem any working codes from the Shop's Codes section to collect free Yen and spins.

3v3 positioning basics

Tips
In short Spreading across the court covers far more ground than three players chasing the same shuttle.

Racket Rivals is a team game. One player pushing forward and two holding the back left and right creates a shape that covers most returns. When a teammate makes a big move to one side, shift to fill the gap they left.

Tips worth knowing
  • Use one player at the front and two at the back left and right as your default shape.
  • Never have all three players rush the same shuttle.
  • When a teammate sprints wide, slide into the space they vacated.
05

Picking the right racket stats for your playstyle

Table
In short Choosing a racket that patches your weakest point has more impact than chasing the highest rarity.

Every racket carries a set of seven stats — Movement, Dash, Jump, Power, Speed, Reach, and Spin — and each one changes something specific about how you play. Test any new racket in a few full matches before swapping your main setup.

Movement and Dashhelps you arrive at the drop zone in time, best for players who feel too slow
Power and Speedmakes the shuttle hit harder and travel faster
Jumpgets you to higher hit points
Spincurves the shuttle mid-air on rackets that support it
06

Limited-time events worth watching for

Tips
In short Event badges are permanently missable, so act during the event window rather than waiting.

Racket Rivals has taken part in Roblox platform events. Playing during these windows lets you earn exclusive badges that are not available at any other time, so check the game when an event is announced and complete the required actions before the event ends.

Tips worth knowing
  • The 2025 Halloween Spotlight event offered two collectible badges — the Rune Badge and the Key Badge — for players who obtained each item during the event.
  • The 2026 Creator Showdown event awarded a badge to players who completed its challenge.
  • The Flick or Treat event in 2026 gave out the Trickster Badge for participating.
  • Event badges are tied to their event window, so log in and complete the tasks as soon as an event is live.

Troubleshooting a losing streak

Warn

When a match goes badly, pick one culprit and fix that first. Air swings, repeating the same return direction, burning Dash early, and forgetting to use abilities are each separate problems with separate fixes.

Worth watching out for
If you keep whiffing, move to the expected landing spot earlier and wait just behind it instead of running straight at the shuttle.
If your shots go the wrong way, point the camera at your target zone before you swing.
If you are losing ground fast, check whether your spirit ability cooldown has cleared.
If your new high-rarity racket made things worse, compare its Reach and Movement numbers against your old one.
Do not use your Awakening for the first time at the start of a match save it for a tight scoreline or a moment when you can convert a clear attack.

Earning and spending Yen without paying

Tips
In short Playing matches and redeeming codes gives you a steady stream of currency and spins without spending Robux.

Yen drops from every match you play, win or lose. Card packs use Yen to roll for spirits, rackets, and awakenings. Codes from the Shop menu hand out free Yen, Lucky Spins, and Awakening Spins. Codes have expiry dates and usage limits, so enter them as soon as you find them.

Tips worth knowing
  • Yen drops from every match played, win or lose.
  • Redeem codes in the Shop's Codes screen for Lucky Spins, Awakening Spins, and Yen.
  • Codes are case-sensitive and each one works once only.
09 Working codes Codes

Staying safe while you play

Warn
In short Personal information, cheat tools, and suspicious links are the three things to avoid with no exceptions.

Racket Rivals is a live multiplayer game. Roblox's mute, block, and report tools are there for situations where other players are rude or attempt to scam you. Card packs and spins are random, so agree on a budget with a parent or guardian before spending any Robux.

Worth watching out for
Never share your password or account details with anyone.
Any offer of free Robux from outside Roblox is a scam do not follow those links.
Using cheat tools or modified clients risks a permanent account ban.
Do not tell people you meet in-game your real name, school, or where you live.
Get codes only from the official Discord or trusted guides do not click random links claiming to have codes.

Common questions

FAQ

Why does pressing E not send the shuttle to the other team?

E is the Set key, and it lifts the shuttle upward on your own side so a teammate can follow up with an attack — it is not a normal return. To send the shuttle to the opponent directly, use a normal swing with Left Click.

How do I redeem codes?

Open the Shop from the in-game menu, then look for the Codes option in that screen and enter your code there exactly as written, matching upper and lower case. Codes reward Yen, Lucky Spins, or Awakening Spins, and each code can only be used once — expired or already-used codes will return an error.

When should I activate my Awakening?

Effective moments include when the score is close late in a match, when your team is being pushed back, or when you have a clear chance to convert an attack. Check that the gauge or activation condition shown on screen is actually met before pressing 2.

Can I make solid progress without spending Robux?

Yes — every match you play earns Yen regardless of the result, and working codes give free spins that can land strong rackets and awakenings. Positioning and ability timing affect match outcomes as much as gear quality.

My ability key 1 is not working. What should I check?

Confirm that a spirit is actually equipped in your loadout, and check whether the ability is still on cooldown. Make sure you are not pressing 2 by mistake — that triggers the Awakening, not the spirit ability.

Are there time-limited badges I can miss permanently?

Yes — Racket Rivals has featured Roblox platform events with exclusive badges, such as the Halloween Spotlight badges and the Creator Showdown badge. These are only available during the event window, so log in and complete the tasks while the event is running.
