The register routine
StepWhen a customer walks in, your first move is always the register. Scan them to pull up their profile on the screen, then read every field carefully before you ask a single question. Once you have asked and heard the answer, you make your call — checkout or shoot.
- Scan the customer use the register to load their profile onto the screen.
- Read the profile take in the name, age, job, and location before anything else.
- Ask the verification question listen closely to what the customer says back.
- Compare the answer check whether it matches the profile you just read.
- Make your call checkout if everything lines up, shoot if it does not.
- Clean up toss the body and mop any mess before the next customer arrives.
Spotting a doppelganger
TipsReal customers answer questions in a way that matches every field on their profile. Doppelgangers slip up because they do not have perfect knowledge of the person they are impersonating. The more customers you process, the easier it becomes to recognise the patterns that real people follow versus the inconsistencies imposters produce.
- Memorise all four profile fields — name, age, job, and location — before you ask anything.
- After several shifts you will start to notice recurring tells that doppelgangers share.
Store chores you cannot skip
CheckCustomer judgements are the dramatic part of the shift, but the store still has to run. Restocking shelves, mopping, and disposing of bodies are all required for the stage to progress.
- Have all shelves been restocked with products?
- Is the floor clean, or is there a mess that still needs mopping?
- Has every body been removed from the store?
- Are there any items you need to buy to keep things running?
Two threats, two different rules
TableThe store has two kinds of danger, and the correct response to each is completely different. Follow any in-game warnings the moment they appear.
| Doppelganger | identify through questioning, then shoot to remove. |
| Entity | do not approach, do not confront; heed any warning the game shows you. |
| Body disposal | required after a doppelganger is shot; do not leave bodies on the floor. |
Getting unstuck
WarnThe two most common reasons players get stuck are letting a doppelganger slip through as a real customer, or leaving a store chore half-finished. Before assuming something is broken, go back through both lists.

Common questions
FAQWhat happens if I let a doppelganger through as a real customer?
The game description states that letting a doppelganger slip through means you face the entity.
Why won't the game let me move to the next stage?
Progress is blocked until both your customer judgements and every store chore are finished. Check that the shelves are restocked, the floor is clean, and all bodies have been removed — any one of those left undone will hold you in place.
Do I have to join the group to play?
Joining the group is optional. The game itself is fully playable without group membership.
