Overview

HOUSE 13 [HORROR] is a Roblox survival horror game where an emergency broadcast has warned that Impostors — creatures that copy human appearance and voices — are trying to get inside homes. You survive by managing your windows, closet, lighting, and doors through multiple nights. This guide covers each Impostor, how to handle them, and how the difficulty modes are structured.

The four Impostors and how to handle each one

Step
In short Every Impostor has a completely different weakness, so knowing all four before you start is the fastest way to stay alive.

Four distinct Impostors are in the game, and the same response will not work across all of them.

  1. The Reacher watch your windows and close them before it climbs through. You can wait until it is almost inside, but do not leave it any later than that.
  2. The Hitcher it attaches to you when you are in darkness. Get back into a lit room before your time spent in the dark reaches its limit.
  3. The Nester close the closet door while it is still inside. If it has already claimed a room, either stay out completely or flash your light at it rapidly to drive it back.
  4. The Whistler stay indoors while it is whistling. If you are already outside when it spots you, run back into the house immediately.

Audio and graphics setup before you play

Tips
In short Sound is a survival tool, not just atmosphere — missing the Whistler's sound or a knock can end your run.

The game recommends headphones and maximum graphics for full immersion.

Tips worth knowing
  • The Whistler signals its presence through sound, and missing that cue while you are outside puts you at immediate risk.
  • Loud sounds are listed as part of the game's horror content.
03

Difficulty modes and how many nights each requires

Table
In short Start on Easy to learn each Impostor's pattern, then move up once surviving six nights feels routine.

There are four modes. Three have a fixed night target and award a badge when you finish; the fourth removes the limit entirely.

Easysurvive six nights
Mediumsurvive twelve nights
Hardsurvive eighteen nights
Endlessno set limit; see how far you can get
04

Core actions to run every night

Check
In short Keeping windows closed, closets shut, rooms lit, and yourself indoors covers the basics for all four Impostors.

Each night you need to cycle through the same set of checks.

  • Check that your windows are closed the Reacher can be stopped right up until it enters, but you need to act before that moment passes.
  • Stay in lit rooms; the Hitcher attaches to you in darkness and you must return to a lit room before your time in darkness runs out.
  • Keep closet doors shut; an open closet gives the Nester the chance to claim that room.
  • Listen for the Whistler before stepping outside, and come back in immediately if you hear it while you are already out.
  • Lock your door and wait for morning.
05

Common reasons runs fail

Warn
In short Most deaths come from ignoring audio cues or spending too long somewhere dark.

If you keep losing, check these specific habits before trying again.

Worth watching out for
Being outside while the Whistler is active is dangerous it will spot you if you do not get back inside fast enough.
Lingering in dark areas accumulates time against you with the Hitcher.
An open closet does not just risk a visit the Nester can take full control of that room, blocking you from using it.
Waiting too long to close a window can cost you the timing window against the Reacher.

Common questions

FAQ

Which difficulty should I start on?

Easy Mode runs for six nights. Once six nights feels manageable, move to Medium's twelve nights, and then Hard's eighteen.

What do I do if the Nester has already taken over a room?

If you closed the closet while the Nester was inside, that handles it directly. If it has already claimed the room, your two options are to avoid that room entirely or to flash your light at it rapidly.

Can I go outside at all during a night?

If the Whistler spots you while you are outside, get back inside the house as quickly as you can.

Does playing with others change how the game works?

Up to 32 players can be in the same session.
