Grace Guide: The core loop
About
OverviewGrace (also called Grace But Evil in its latest update) is a room-escape game built around speed, movement, and chaos — you push from saferoom to saferoom before a 2-minute-30-second timer runs out. This guide covers the core loop, how doors and breaker rooms work, traits and items, modifiers, and badges, so you can get further on each run.

The core loop
StepWhen you enter the Grace gamemode through the lobby doors, you pick your traits and items, then the clock starts. You have two minutes and thirty seconds to find the hatch that leads to the next saferoom. The timer pauses once you reach a saferoom and restarts when you choose to move on. Reaching saferooms earns you Saferoom XP, which affects the skybox — the star overhead grows brighter and gains rings the more XP you accumulate.
- Enter the gamemode walk through the doors on the sides of the lobby.
- Pick traits and items you start with one slot each; leveling up unlocks three slots of each.
- Move through numbered rooms each door displays its room number on the front.
- Watch for the hatch it is guaranteed to appear in an empty room after enough doors.
- Drop into the saferoom the timer pauses here and only restarts when you proceed.
- Repeat the maze continues beyond every saferoom until the run ends.

Door types and how to pass them
TableRooms are connected only by doors, so recognizing each type quickly saves timer. Standard doors are metal chain-link fence style. Some carry wooden signs and are called Tampered Doors — you slide through them rather than opening them normally. Fully reinforced metal breaker-room doors require you to flip levers and charge plugs until the door rises. If a breaker door is broken or rusted, it will not lift all the way even after charging, and you will need to slide underneath it.
| Standard chain-link door | walk through normally. |
| Tampered Door (wooden sign attached) | slide through to open. |
| Breaker room door (solid reinforced metal) | flip levers and charge plugs, then the door rises. |
| Broken or rusted breaker door | charge it as normal, then slide under the gap it leaves. |
Movement and settings to get right before you start
CheckYour default walking speed is around 10 studs per second and your running speed is around 20 studs per second. The game page recommends headphones, graphics set to plus-six, and playing on PC — the game is designed to work without audio as well, but audio still carries useful information.
- Play on a desktop PC if you can the game page lists it as the recommended platform.
- Set graphics to plus-six the game's own page calls this out as the recommended level.
- Wear headphones audio carries information even though the game is designed to be playable without it.
- Know your speeds walking is roughly 10 studs per second and running is roughly 20.
- Check that your Roblox inventory is public if you want badge notifications to appear in the badges tab.
Modifiers and when to use them
TipsModifiers can be applied through modifier lobbies or from inside a saferoom. Some modifiers make rooms structurally harder to navigate — Deladdered, Malformed, Deformed, Shapeless, and Water Drop all fall into that category. Water Drop specifically floods certain rooms completely and replaces their doors with wooden planks you break by sliding into them.
- Access modifiers in a modifier lobby or from any saferoom — both routes work.
- Stacking Deladdered, Malformed, Deformed, or Shapeless makes room layouts harder to pass through.
- Water Drop floods downward-ramp rooms entirely and swaps chain-link doors for breakable wooden planks.
- Modifiers that disable XP gain will strip the rings from the star in the sky and restore the plain original skybox.
Badges worth knowing
SummaryThe current update contains 199 badges in total, with 169 that can actually be obtained right now. After the latest update it became impossible to make all badges load inside the game, so a badge you had attached before the update will stay with you. To see which badges you own, open the game's Roblox page and scroll down to the badges section. One badge, COERCION, causes any player who holds it to be kicked from every session — the only fix is to delete it from your inventory.
- Total badges in the current update 199, of which 169 are obtainable.
- Where to view your badges the game's Roblox page, scrolled down to the badges section.
- COERCION badge effect automatic kick from the game; delete it from your inventory to stop being kicked.
- SNOOZE badge earned by surviving Litany.
- Private Roblox inventory badge notifications will not appear in the tab if your inventory is set to private.

Common questions
FAQWhy can I only equip one trait and one item?
New players start with a single slot for traits and a single slot for items. Leveling up inside the game unlocks three slots for each, giving you more build flexibility.
I got the COERCION badge and now I keep getting kicked — what do I do?
Delete the COERCION badge from your Roblox inventory. The game kicks anyone who holds it, and removing it from your inventory is the only way to stop being kicked.
