Steal An Egg Mutations: List and How to Get Them | Roblox

Steal An Egg Mutations: List and How to Get Them | Roblox

Mutations in Steal An Egg matter when you compare how pets look and how much they earn. However, mutation multipliers, pet rarity, and size measure different things. Choosing a pet just because its name sounds rare will not necessarily increase your base income. For help choosing which pets to keep, including size, see our mutation and size income comparison.

This page lists the 8 mutations with multipliers in our existing guide separately from mutations that still need further verification. Use the tables to find acquisition routes, the multiplier explanations to compare earnings, and the progression advice if you are just starting out.

Steal An Egg is a Roblox game in which you carry eggs guarded by animals back to your base and collect the pets that hatch. Use your pets’ income to upgrade your base and treadmill. As you run faster, you can explore areas farther away. The pets you collect can differ in size and mutations as well as species.

The game supports PCs, phones, tablets, and consoles. Start by earning income from eggs you can bring back safely, then work toward mutations as you upgrade and explore.

Steal An Egg Mutations: Multipliers and Acquisition Routes

The multipliers below are the values listed in MetaNew’s existing guide and reference materials. Whether you can obtain a mutation now is a separate question from how it was obtained in the past. We have not labeled every event-related mutation as unavailable.

Icon Mutation Listed multiplier Acquisition route What to check
Silver mutation icon Silver ×1.2 Standard eggs Look for mutated eggs in each area, bring them back, and hatch them.
Bloom mutation icon Bloom ×1.25 Cherry Blossom equipment Associated with the Sakura Incubator in Cherry Blossom. Check how to unlock it and which materials it requires.
Golden mutation icon Golden (also called Gold) ×2.5 Standard eggs Find and hatch mutated eggs. In Japanese, the name is also sometimes rendered as Gold.
Spirit Bloom mutation icon Spirit Bloom ×2.5 Cherry Blossom equipment Associated with conditions such as charging the Sakura Incubator. Treat it separately from the standard roll.
Fractured mutation icon Fractured ×2.75 Rift rewards Our existing guide describes Boss Tokens and a mutation item in the Boss Shop.
Scrambled mutation icon Scrambled ×2.75 Dr. Scramble rewards Our existing guide describes Samples and a mutation item in the Experiment Shop.
Parasite mutation icon Parasite ×3 Special eggs and event rewards Separate from the standard egg roll. Check its source, such as the dedicated Parasite Egg.
Rainbow mutation icon Rainbow ×3.5 Standard eggs Find a mutated egg and bring it back. Even a high multiplier can produce low final income if the pet’s base income is low.

Mutation icons have been checked against the images on Steal An Egg Wiki (Fandom). Some images were recreated using the appearance of the references. Source material: CC BY-SA (rights in game assets with separate notices remain with their respective rights holders).

Additional Mutations: Enchanted, Nitro, and Spectral

The articles we compared also list these 3 mutations. However, some multipliers differ between sources or lack verified numerical support, so we do not treat them as equally established as the 8 mutations above.

Name Status in this guide What needs checking
Enchanted Multiplier under review Published articles list both ×2.8 and ×2.85. Check the current item’s description and compare income before and after applying it.
Nitro Multiplier under review Check the race-related acquisition information against the current exchange requirements and effects.
Spectral Multiplier under review Check the Halloween-related acquisition information against the current exchange requirements and effects.

An overall ranking that includes these additional mutations requires values that can be compared in the same game version and under the same conditions. Do not add them to an established multiplier table based on their names alone, or assume they are obtainable simply because an event is running.

Standard Eggs, Equipment, and Events Require Different Approaches

For Standard Eggs, Expand the Area You Can Safely Return From

Silver, Golden, and Rainbow are described as mutations that can appear on standard eggs. Before spending all your time waiting for one specific mutation, build income and upgrade your treadmill to expand your search area. Finding a distant egg will not add to your collection if you cannot get it back to your base.

If you often fail to carry eggs home from an area, return to the previous area and upgrade first. Plan your route back before choosing an egg. If carrying it slows you down, try a smaller egg or a nearer area. See our beginner guide for controls and the order in which to upgrade.

Check an Item’s Target and Success Conditions Before Using It

The relevant locations and rewards differ: Bloom is associated with the Sakura Incubator, Fractured with the Rift, and Scrambled with Dr. Scramble. Obtaining a shop item does not mean you have successfully applied a mutation to your chosen egg or pet. Before buying or consuming it, check whether it targets an egg or a pet, whether it must be used before hatching, and whether the effect is guaranteed or chance-based.

How to Get Mutations: Eggs, Event Rewards, and the Sakura Incubator

Image from: Steal An Egg

Once you know which mutation you want, choose its acquisition route first. Searching for standard eggs requires different preparation from collecting event materials. The steps below summarize routes described in our existing guide. Rewards and equipment requirements can change in updates, so check the current in-game instructions for where to participate, what the item targets, and which materials you need.

Silver, Golden, and Rainbow: Bring Back a Mutated Egg

  1. Choose an area you can reach and return from at your current speed, then look for eggs.
  2. Check the route back to your base before picking up an egg. If you cannot escape while carrying it, build income with nearer areas or easier eggs, upgrade your speed, and try again.
  3. Bring the egg back, hatch it, and check the pet’s mutation and income per second.
  4. Before replacing a main pet, compare its income with the pet already placed in your base. Do not remove your current main pet just because the new one is named Rainbow.

Our existing guide also describes fusion as an acquisition route, but not as a guaranteed way to apply a particular mutation. Before choosing pets for fusion, check whether losing a main pet would reduce your base income.

Fractured: Spend Rift Boss Tokens in the Boss Shop

  1. Check how to join the Rift, challenge the boss, and collect Boss Tokens.
  2. Find the Fractured mutation item in the Boss Shop and read its token cost, target, and success rate.
  3. The target described in our existing guide is an unhatched egg. Choose the egg you want, then check the target and effect again on the item’s use screen before consuming it.
  4. Check the result after using the item and confirm that it succeeded before hatching the egg.

If the displayed application chance is 10%, one use does not guarantee success. Exchanging Boss Tokens for the item and successfully applying the mutation to an egg are separate steps.

Scrambled: Collect Samples in Dr. Scramble

Left to right: Scrap Drone, Reactor Drone, and Augmented Drone. Redrawn using their in-game appearances as references.

These are the 3 drones that drop Samples in the Dr. Scramble event. Reference: Steal An Egg Wiki (Fandom).

  1. Defeat drones in the Dr. Scramble event to collect Samples.
  2. Check the exchange requirements and description for Scrambled Mutation in the Experiment Shop.
  3. Prepare an unhatched egg, as described in our existing guide, and read the mutation item’s target and success conditions before using it.
  4. Check whether the mutation was applied. Several failed attempts do not necessarily make the next attempt a guaranteed success.

The exchange uses Dr. Scramble’s Samples, not Rift Boss Tokens. Matching the material name to the correct shop helps you avoid confusing rewards from different events.

When the Fandom page was consulted, the Sakura Incubator entry stated “NOT CURRENTLY ACTIVE.” The following steps describe the acquisition route covered in our existing guide. Check the in-game equipment and event instructions to see whether it is available or has returned.

  1. Reach the Cherry Blossom area and hatch a Crane pet there.
  2. Take Crane to the old cherry tree and work toward unlocking the Sakura Incubator.
  3. Collect Sakura Crystals from the Sakura Crystal Trees that appear during Great Bloom.
  4. Place an unhatched egg in the Incubator, charge it with the crystals you collected, and check the result.

Unlocking the equipment, collecting crystals, and applying a mutation are separate stages. Reaching Cherry Blossom alone does not guarantee Spirit Bloom, so follow the equipment’s instructions in order.

Parasite: Look for Its Dedicated Source, Not Standard Eggs

Our existing guide describes Parasite as a mutation obtained from the dedicated Parasite Egg. Rather than repeatedly opening standard eggs, first check whether an event or reward that supplies the special egg is currently available. Check the egg’s name and reward description before bringing it back, then confirm the mutation and income on the pet after it hatches.

The Hungry Monster instructions describe carrying a glowing purple Infested Egg found from Snow onward. Each feeding adds 20% fullness; reaching 100% rewards you with a Monster Chest. Do not confuse the name with a standard egg or Parasite Egg, and check the reward you actually receive.

Compare Mutations, Size, and Pet Rarity Separately

An unusually colored egg, a large pet, a high-rarity pet, and a mutated pet are not the same thing. Identify what makes each individual different instead of judging by appearance alone, then choose according to what you want to collect.

What to compare What to check How to use it
Pet species and rarity The pet’s species and which rarity it belongs to. Use this when collecting species you do not own or deciding which area to explore next.
Size Pets of the same species can differ in size. Size can also affect income. Even with the same mutation, compare the final income per second.
Mutation An additional trait applied to an individual, such as Silver, Golden, or Rainbow. Check its individual multiplier, how it combines with others, and the conditions for applying it.
Income per second The amount that individual earns when placed in your base. Use it as the final comparison before replacing a pet in a base slot.

Do not use an egg’s color as a substitute for an income multiplier: check the hatched pet’s displayed stats. For worked income comparisons, see mutation multiplier rankings and stacking calculations; for an explanation of how difficult mutations are to obtain, see mutation rarity rankings and how rolls work.

Do Not Replace Pets Based on Multipliers Alone

Image from: Steal An Egg

When comparing pets, prioritize final income per second over mutation names. For example, in a hypothetical comparison with size and other conditions held equal, a pet with base income 100 and a ×3.5 multiplier earns 350. A pet with base income 200 and a ×2.5 multiplier earns 500. In this example, the pet with the lower mutation multiplier earns more.

If your base slots are full, compare the new pet’s income per second with that of a low-income pet already placed before replacing it. When pets have multiple mutations or different sizes, do not determine the final result from the individual multiplier table alone.

Are There Codes That Help You Get Mutations?

When checked on October 22, 2026, MetaNew’s Steal An Egg codes list had 0 active codes. We had not confirmed any code that guarantees a mutation item, or the presence of a code-entry field. Do not reuse codes from other games; check new official announcements and the current listing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Image from: Steal An Egg

Are Gold and Golden Different Mutations?

This article groups them as Japanese naming variants of the English name Golden. When comparing different pets, check the English name and the in-game effect as well as the Japanese name.

Does Having a Mutation Mean a Pet Is Rare?

Mutation and pet species or rarity are separate properties. Even with the same mutation, earnings depend on the original pet and its size. To increase income, check species, size, mutation, and income per second together.

Are All Mutations From Ended Events Unobtainable?

An old event name alone is not enough to tell. You need to distinguish permanent features, returning events, and the use of items players already own. Check event information and the current in-game shops.

If you are struggling to carry eggs or improve your speed, revisit the beginner progression that prioritizes the treadmill. The guide also has a basic table covering multipliers and sources for 8 mutations.
