About

Overview

Timebomb Duels is a Roblox PvP game where players pass a live bomb to each other by physically touching opponents — whoever holds it when the timer hits zero is out, and the last player standing wins. This guide covers how to pass and dodge the bomb, how to handle lag, and what to expect from the current Alpha version.

How the bomb works

Summary
In short There is no pass button — contact with another player's character is the only way to hand the bomb off.

The bomb transfers the moment your character touches someone else's. That makes positioning, camera control, and reading your opponent's path the core skills of every round. Aim for the center of an opponent's body rather than the edge, because a glancing touch to an arm or foot can fail to register. After contact, check the bomb display to confirm it actually moved to them — if it did not, close in again.

  • Passing touch an opponent's character to transfer the bomb; no button press needed.
  • Confirmation watch the on-screen bomb indicator to verify the transfer went through.
  • Aim center of the body registers more reliably than the edges of limbs.
  • Angle approaching from a diagonal or the side makes it easier to peel away after contact.
  • Reading anticipate where an opponent is heading rather than chasing directly behind them.

First steps when you join

Step
In short Choosing a low-ping server and spending your first match on basics — not winning — is the fastest way to get comfortable.

Before anything else, pick a server with the lowest ping available. The game itself advises this, and because transfers rely on physical contact, high latency makes the hit detection feel broken. Once you are in, use the first match to get three things clear: how the transfer feels, where the dead ends on the map are, and how to spot who currently holds the bomb.

  1. Server selection join the lowest-ping server in the list before you do anything else.
  2. Identify the bomb holder as soon as a round starts, find out who is carrying it.
  3. Map awareness locate spots with two or more exits so you know where to run.
  4. First-round goal complete one successful pass and survive one round.

Dodging when you do not have the bomb

Tips
In short The goal while running is to make your next move unreadable, not just to go fast.

Speed matters less than unpredictability. If you juke constantly from far away, you only cover more ground yourself without gaining any real separation. Save the big direction changes for the moment a carrier closes in. Keep the bomb holder on screen at all times, and rotate the camera regularly so no one sneaks up from behind. Running along the outer edge of the map gives you room to maneuver, but hug walls too closely and corners will trap you — stay a little inside the boundary.

Tips worth knowing
  • Delay sharp turns until the carrier is close, then cut at roughly ninety degrees to throw off their read.
  • Avoid dead ends, narrow ledges, and any corridor with only one exit.
  • Do not chain jumps on flat ground — your landing spot becomes easy to predict.
  • Rotate your camera often to catch anyone approaching from off-screen.
  • On mobile, short stick inputs let you adjust direction without overshooting.
05

Chasing when you hold the bomb

Check
In short Cut off where your target is going rather than following the path they have already taken.

Running directly behind a fleeing player rarely closes the gap — they simply stay ahead of you. Instead, predict their next turn and move to intercept it, cutting their available space. When you do reach them, a diagonal or side-on approach is better than a head-on collision because it lets you break away in the opposite direction right after the pass. Whatever you do, do not hold the bomb until the last second — if there is any lag, the transfer may not register in time.

  • Interception move toward where the target will be, not where they are right now.
  • Contact approach come in from the side or at a diagonal, not straight on.
  • Post-contact exit immediately move in the opposite direction from your approach after the pass.
  • Timer awareness begin a pass attempt well before the last few seconds, especially if the connection feels slow.
  • Transfer confirmation glance at the bomb display; if it has not moved, close in once more.
06

Lag and what to do about it

Warn
In short If contacts feel off or opponents seem to teleport, the cause is almost always network latency, not your technique.

Because every transfer depends on physical contact, this game is especially sensitive to latency. Teleporting opponents, touches that do not register, and bombs that arrive from impossible distances are all signs of a poor connection. Switching to a server with lower ping fixes most of these problems. If that does not help, lowering your graphics quality and closing other apps on your device can stabilize things further.

Worth watching out for
Move to a different, lower-ping server when opponents appear to teleport.
Aim for the body center early latency means your input lands slightly after you think it does.
Start a pass attempt at three or more seconds remaining when the connection is unstable.
Lower graphics quality and close background apps if the game stutters.
If nothing improves, reconnect your device or internet connection before rejoining.
07

Game modes and when to use them

Table
In short Match the mode to what you are trying to practice.

The lobby offers several modes including free-for-all, open arena, and first-to-five. Because Alpha updates can rename or adjust them, always check the current lobby labels. Rounds that are already in progress may not let you join until the next one starts, so if you land in spectator mode, just wait.

Free-for-allfor learning transfers, map layout, and reacting to multiple players at once.
Open arenafor practicing chasing and running.
First-to-five / one-on-onerewards reading a single opponent's habits.
08

Alpha version and your stats

Summary
In short Stats reset at the end of each development stage, so treat improvement in skill — not score — as your real progress.

The game is openly in Alpha as of September 2026, and the developers have stated that all stats are wiped after each stage concludes. Bugs and glitches are expected, and the developers ask players to report anything they find, noting that reports speed up fixes.

  • Stat wipes all stats reset at the end of every development stage; wins are not permanent.
  • Bug reports reporting issues helps the developers fix problems faster.
  • Chat safety never share personal information, passwords, or login codes in public chat.

パグ

Alphas are meant to have bugs. I heard picking a server with low lag is important, but how does everyone choose one?

Glossary

Glossary
Bomb pass
The act of touching an opponent's character to transfer the active bomb to them.
Hit detection
The game's judgment of whether your character has made contact with another player, which determines if the bomb transfers.
Ping / latency
The time it takes for your input to reach the server and return as a result on screen — lower numbers mean more accurate contact registration.
Cutback
A sharp change of direction made at the moment a bomb carrier gets close, intended to throw off their intercept path.
Interception
Moving to where an opponent is heading rather than chasing directly behind them, used to close distance faster.
Alpha
An early development stage where the game is publicly playable but still subject to bugs, changes, and stat resets.
Stat wipe
A deliberate reset of all player records that happens at the end of each Alpha development stage.

Common questions

FAQ

How do I pass the bomb?

Run into another player's character — there is no dedicated button. Aim for the center of their body rather than the arms or legs for the most reliable contact. After touching them, check the bomb display to make sure it moved to them, and close in again if it did not.

Why did I touch someone but the bomb stayed with me?

Network latency is the most common cause — the server registered the contact too late or not at all. Try aiming for the body center and initiating contact a little earlier, and if the problem keeps happening, switch to a lower-ping server.

Will my wins and stats carry over as the game updates?

No — the game states that all stats are wiped after each development stage ends.

I joined a match and ended up spectating — what happened?

Rounds that are already in progress may not allow new players to join mid-game. Wait for the current round to finish, and you should be able to participate when the next one starts.

What should I do if I find a bug?

The developers ask players to report bugs, noting that doing so speeds up fixes. Note what happened and how to reproduce it, then submit the report through the game's official channels.
