About

Overview

99 Nights in the Forest is a co-op survival game where you build and defend a camp in a dark forest until you reach Day 99. First things to do when you spawn

Step
In short Getting your campfire to level 2 and preparing for the Pelt Trader on Day 2 gives you the strongest possible start.

The game drops you next to a small campfire and a tiny forest. There is always either one piece of coal or a pile of six logs waiting nearby, so grab whichever one you find first and feed it to the campfire straight away. The Deer does not attack on the first night, so that window is extra safe for chopping, hunting, and exploring.

  1. Grab the guaranteed coal or six-log pile feed it to the campfire immediately to push toward level 2.
  2. Hunt rabbits on Night 1 the Deer stays away, so it is the safest time to chase bunnies and collect a Bunny Foot before the Pelt Trader arrives on Day 2.
  3. Aim for campfire level 3 or 4 before the first night ends higher levels open up more of the map.

How the day counter works and why beds matter

Summary
In short Rescuing kids and building beds stacks your day multiplier up to 9x, which is the single biggest way to reach Day 99 faster.

Each day lasts three minutes and each night lasts one minute and thirty seconds. The day counter normally advances by one each night, but rescuing the four lost children and building beds from the Crafting Bench raises the multiplier all the way to a maximum of nine days per night. Reaching Day 50 earns you two bonus diamonds, and reaching Day 99 ends the main story with a cutscene and three bonus diamonds, plus a display of your total run time. Note that Day 1 through 10 events — including the Pelt Trader's Day 2 visit and the first Cultist Raid on Day 4 — always fire on those real days regardless of your current multiplier.

  • Day multiplier start 1x, one real day per night survived.
  • Maximum multiplier 9x, reached by rescuing all four kids and building all beds.
  • Pelt Trader first visit real Day 2, then every three to four days after.
  • Monsters that wake up Deer from Day 2, Owl or Ram or Cat from Day 5 (only one of the three wakes, not all).
  • First Cultist Raid real Day 4, then every four days.
  • Day 99 reward three bonus diamonds and a display of your run time in minutes and seconds.
03

Rescuing the four lost kids

Check
In short Each child you rescue adds to your day multiplier, so push to rescue at least the first three as early as the conditions allow.

Four children are hidden in the forest, and each one you bring back to camp increases how many days pass each night. Every rescue has two requirements: your campfire must be at a certain level, and you must defeat a set number of specific enemies. The fourth rescue is the hardest, but you can still reach Day 99 without it.

  • First child campfire level 2 or 3, and five red-collar wolves defeated.
  • Second child campfire level 3 or 4, and five blue-collar alpha wolves defeated.
  • Third child campfire level 5 or 6, and two bears defeated.
  • Fourth child campfire level 6, and five bears defeated.
  • Rescue Dino Kid between Night 1 and Night 2 to start stacking multipliers as early as possible.
  • Skip the fourth rescue if it feels out of reach Day 99 is still very achievable without that final step.

Avoiding and handling each monster

Tips
In short Every monster has a clear weakness you can exploit so that night exploration stays possible even without a campfire nearby.

Monsters only come out at night, so finish chopping, hunting, and scavenging during the day whenever you can. A flashlight can ward off the Deer if you need to work outside at night, though staying inside the campfire's range is safer. Each of the four monsters behaves differently, and knowing those patterns stops them from being a constant threat.

Tips worth knowing
  • The Deer is the most dangerous — on mobile, switch to first-person view and flash it while walking backward; on PC, use the lock-screen method while doing the same thing.
  • The Ram is the easiest to shake — run in zig-zags or duck behind a large tree or rock and it loses you.
  • The Owl spawns wolves to lure you into moving — run just until it is about to detect you, then stop completely and it retreats.
  • The Cat jumps through walls and structures, so hiding in buildings does nothing — sprint in very wide zig-zags instead.
  • During a Cultist Raid, the Deer will briefly appear then vanish and leave you alone for the duration of the raid.
  • Any speed bonus from your class or buffs makes every monster easier to outrun.
05

Crafting priority after the first day

Step
In short Upgrading the Crafting Bench unlocks the items that keep your camp stable and your day counter climbing.

The Crafting Bench is the heart of your camp. Build things in roughly this order to stay ahead of the difficulty.

  1. Build beds as early as possible craft the Regular Bed before Night 2 or 3, and the Old Bed before Night 2 or 4, since each bed raises your day multiplier.
  2. Craft a Sundial at Crafting Bench level 2 it shows exactly how many seconds remain until the next day or night, which helps you time your trips.
  3. Add a Crock Pot at level 3 cooking vegetables and meat into stew gives a much more efficient source of food than eating raw ingredients.
  4. Add a Biofuel Processor at level 3 it turns leftover meat and wood into fuel so the campfire never runs dry.
  5. Craft the Temporal Accelerometer at Crafting Bench level 5 it skips an entire night cycle in exchange for one Cultist Gem.
06

Frog Invasion event

Step
In short Collect eight Frog Keys from marked ponds during the day, then fight through the cave carefully to beat the Frog King.

The Frog Invasion is a random event. When the notification appears, a set of ponds in the forest gets key markers on them. Only the marked ponds can drop Frog Keys, so fish only at those spots. Collecting eight keys causes a Whirlpool to appear near the campfire, which takes you into the Frog Cave. Inside, green frogs appear first, then blue, then purple, with the Frog King at the end. Blue and purple frogs split into more frogs when killed, so always take them on in open spaces.

  1. Watch for the daytime notification head straight to the ponds the moment it appears.
  2. Fish only at key-marked ponds unmarked ponds will not drop Frog Keys.
  3. Collect eight Frog Keys once you have all eight, jump into the Whirlpool near the campfire.
  4. Handle blue and purple frogs in open space splitting doubles the enemy count.
  5. Back off immediately after the Frog King falls it summons two purple frogs on death, so create distance before they spawn.
  6. If the event never fires, leave and rejoin a fresh server older instances sometimes stop running events.
07

When your camp keeps getting destroyed

Warn
In short Three things kill most camps — an unguarded campfire, gaps in the log walls, and running out of food — and all three are easy to fix once you spot them.

If you are dying every night despite having decent gear, the problem is almost always your camp setup rather than your weapons. Run through this checklist before you assume you need stronger equipment.

Worth watching out for
A dead campfire lets enemies enter freely always stock fuel before nightfall.
One gap in your log wall is enough for enemies to funnel through walk the whole perimeter and patch any opening.
Rain drains campfire fuel much faster than normal check the gauge during wet weather even if you just refuelled.
During a Cultist Raid, fight from outside the camp perimeter staying inside lets enemies surround you from all sides.
If players leave mid-run the difficulty does not scale back down it stays set to the original team size, so adjust your strategy accordingly.
08

Classes and how to choose one

Tips
In short Start with a cheap class to learn the game, then save diamonds for a class that fills the gap your playstyle needs.

Classes are bought with diamonds in the class shop and shape your starting gear and passive perks. The shop rotates daily and you get one free reroll per day. You can also borrow a single perk from another class using the Talent slot. Classes are not carried over run to run, but diamonds are, so you keep building toward more expensive options over time.

Tips worth knowing
  • Camper starts with an old flashlight.
  • Three classes added on September 5, 2026 — Escape Artist, Elemental, and Woodsman — each come with their own badge quest, and earning all three badges unlocks a bonsai tree furniture item.
09

Earning diamonds without spending Robux

Tips
In short Daily quests are the most reliable source of diamonds, but badges and milestone days stack up meaningfully over time.

Diamonds unlock classes, and completing all normal badges and event badges gives 396 diamonds in total. Four redeem codes are currently active — enter them through the Codes button in the Currency Shop for extra diamonds and Flames.

Tips worth knowing
  • Complete daily quests — finishing all three tiers each day is the steadiest source of free diamonds.
  • Reach milestone days — Day 50 pays two bonus diamonds and Day 99 pays three bonus diamonds.
  • Earn badges — many are straightforward, like upgrading the campfire or defending against the first Cultist Raid, and each pays diamonds on first completion.
  • Redeem active codes through the Currency Shop — the total currently available adds up to 47 diamonds plus six Flames.
  • Type 'yay fishing' in chat while actively fishing with a rod in hand — two diamonds fall from the sky, but this works only once per account and requires chat to be enabled.

Common questions

FAQ

Can I finish the game playing solo?

Yes, reaching Day 99 alone is possible. Keep your campfire fuelled, build beds early, and rescue the children to push your day multiplier up.

Why is the Frog Invasion not triggering?

Older server instances sometimes stop running events. Leave and rejoin a fresh server, then watch for the notification during daytime hours since that is when the event fires. You can also use a Flame item to force the Frog Invasion to trigger at 100% chance.

Does a bigger team make the game easier?

Not automatically — larger teams face harder gameplay, so a five-person squad is not an easy mode. If players leave mid-run the difficulty stays locked to the original team size, so it will not adjust down for whoever remains.

What happens if a Corrupted Item reaches 100% corruption?

It explodes and disappears from your inventory, and world corruption rises by 10% permanently. You can avoid the penalty by dropping the item before it reaches 100%.
